Studies conducted to determine the reliability of the environmental monitoring program of the Derwent estuary were reviewed. The monitoring program was carried out over a peroid of 15 years, and two main studies were implemented to review its progress. Subsequently, it was concluded that effective monitoring was achieved based on innovations to the monitoring program over the 15 year period.
